Alec Beall - Big Brother CanadaName: Alec Beall
Age: 26
Hometown: Vancouver, BC
Occupation: Social Psychological Research/Doctoral Student
Do you have a strategy going into the house?
I don’t want to be perceived as a threat – I want to fly under the radar – but that’s just not me. So, who knows? I want to find one person that I’ll be entirely loyal to, probably one of the dumb people in the house because they’re more bound by loyalty and honour – creative and intelligent people can’t be trusted.

Andrew Monaghan - Big Brother CanadaName: Andrew Monaghan
Age: 38
Hometown: Halifax, NS (originally from Corner Brook, NL)
Occupation: Insurance Sales Trainer
Do you have a strategy going into the house?
My strategy is not to have a strategy. I don’t know these people so having a strategy before going into the house is only setting myself up to fail. What if I meet the woman of my dreams in there? Then I want her, not the money! I’m just going to be myself and play a good social game.

Aneal Joshua Ramkissoon - Big Brother CanadaName: Aneal Joshua Ramkissoon
Age: 21
Hometown: Richmond Hill, ON
Occupation: Communications major
Do you have a strategy going into the house?
I’m definitely going to be a strategic player but I don’t want anyone to know that I am. I’m going to try and come across very young and naïve, and like I’ve never been away from home – those are the type of players that people don’t view as a threat.

Anuj Burman - Big Brother CanadaName: Anuj ‘AJ’ Burman
Age: 32
Hometown: Scarborough, ON
Occupation: Director of Business Development
Do you have a strategy going into the house?
My plan is to get to know the other houseguests on a personal level. Be friends with them and try not to annoy them. I’m a talker. I’ve been told I talk too much. My voice sounds too good to keep under wraps. I like to refer to myself as an underdeveloped listener.

Danielle Alexander - Big Brother CanadaName: Danielle Alexander
Age: 20
Hometown: Calgary, AB (originally from Fort McMurray, AB)
Occupation: Student and Aspiring actress
Do you have a strategy going into the house?
I’m planning to form an alliance with people I naturally click with, but then I won’t hang out with them. I don’t want to put our connection on display for everyone to judge and feel threatened by. I also won’t hate anyone openly (just in the Diary Room), but I’m sure that people will get on my nerves. I’m not afraid to lie or confront anyone. I’m not a bi*@h, but I can be one if I need to.

Emerald Brady - Big Brother CanadaName: Emerald “Topaz” Brady
Age: 27
Hometown: Scarborough, ON
Occupation: Part-time dental hygienist and full-time student
Do you have a strategy going into the house?
My strategy is to go in, assess the other houseguests and take it from there. I don’t know exactly how I should act – should I go in and be super kind to everybody or be a complete bi*@h?

Emmett Blois - Big Brother CanadaName: Emmett Blois
Age: 24
Hometown: Gore, Hants County, NS
Occupation: Dairy farmer
Do you have a strategy going into the house?
This is going to be tough,. I’m a competitive person but I’ve never thrown a competition. I don’t think I’ll be able to get out of doing that in the house. I’ll probably flirt a little. I’m really good at that, and I like the ladies who play hard to get. If you don’t get turned down the first time you try, you’re not having fun.

Gary Levy - Big Brother CanadaName: Gary Levy
Age: 21
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Occupation: Bartender, Artist, Fashion Stylist Assistant
Do you have a strategy going into the house?
My strategy is to be really social and friendly to everyone. When you’re social you get information from everyone and then I will decide how to use the information that I get.

Jillian MacLaughlin - Big Brother CanadaName: Jillian MacLaughlin
Age: 27
Hometown: New Glasgow, NS
Occupation: Teacher
Do you have a strategy going into the house?
My strategy is to have no strategy at all! With a diverse group of people the dynamic is going to be completely different depending on who they are, so I’m just going to go in and try and make friends and plan as I go.

Kat Yee - Big Brother CanadaName: Kat Yee
Age: 27
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Occupation: Bartender
Do you have a strategy going into the house?
I’m going to lay low and keep the target off my back. I’ll downplay my physical ability until the people that I see as threats are out of the house. I’ll also try to be a fly on the wall whenever I can.

Liza Stinton - Big Brother CanadaName: Liza Stinton
Age: 29
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Occupation: Tanning Salon Owner
Do you have a strategy going into the house?
My short term plan is not to get evicted in the first week. After that, it’s game on. It’ll be all about living in the now and taking every moment as it comes. My strategy is to shut up and listen more than I talk – but that in itself will be my very own minute-to-minute challenge.

Peter Brown - Big Brother CanadaName: Peter Brown
Age: 26
Hometown: Surrey, BC (originally from Millville, NB)
Occupation: Web Content Curator
Do you have a strategy going into the show?
My strategy is to be nice to people – it’s the most duplicitous thing I can do. In real life I’m nice to the people I like, but to me these people aren’t people, they are characters to be overcome in my narrative to the end.

Talla Rejaei - Big Brother CanadaName: Talla Rejaei
Age: 26
Hometown: Edmonton, AB
Occupation: Independent Living Support Worker and Social Work student
Do you have a strategy going into the house?
I’ve learned that going into the house with a strategy doesn’t usually work out the way you planned. What I would like to do is keep a low profile since I’m loud and it stands out.

Suzette Amaya - Big Brother CanadaName: Suzette Amaya
Age: 36
Hometown: East Vancouver, BC
Occupation: Support Worker, Radio Producer and Host, Motivational Speaker.
Do you have a strategy going into the show?
I think the skills I’ve attained through my education and overcoming adversity will be a big help. I also plan to do some manipulating, some stroking of egos, riding some coattails and floating my way to the top. I’ll be the ultimate floater!

Thomas Plant - Big Brother Canada
Name: Thomas Plant
Age: 24
Hometown: Edmonton, AB (originally from Calgary, AB)
Occupation: Bartender and Firefighter
Do you have a strategy going into the house?
No I don’t – I’m just going to totally wing it.

So there they are, your cast for the first season of Big Brother here in Canada. What do you think of your new HGs?

Source: Slice

  1. 6 of 15 from the Toronto area…guess it should be called Big Brother Toronto. Canada is a big place Slice. You could have represented more provinces….I won’t be watching…sorry

    • there is 10 provinces and 3 Territories thats 13 of the 14 house guests randomly pick the 14th person make it fair

      • Haayer314 not sure if you have been watching from the start but there’s 15 ppl who start the game but yea 1 person from each then two random but maybe it because the house is built in Toronto which shouldn’t matter it would be nice to find out how they made their choice if you get in or not as well what do u need/not need to be a guest or is everyone is in a random draw which I think is how it should be you enter your name and they pull them and have ppl put male or female and pull half from female pile and other half male pile would be nice to hear how they choose though??!!!!!?????

  2. Sounds interesting. Lots of diverse backgrounds. I agree there should be at least a representation from each of the provinces. I’m sure there was solid reasoning behind your choices.

    • It looks like they went out west found the funniest looking people they could if it flops they could call it Canadas first incounter with western freaks,Not one real person on this show who really represent Canada we are hard workers not and partiers not one of this people look like they really lived.

  3. Suzette Amaya gives me the initial impression of being the winner of Big Brother Canada!!! Woo whooo! Suzette Amaya for big brother!

  4. I wish everyone would quit focusing on who’s from what province. Do you guys pick your favorite BBUSA houseguests based on what state they’re from? We’re all Canadian, and just be happy that they didn’t take 15 from Toronto.

    • Totally Agree! I’m fron N-B and nobody is representing my place but honestly, I don’t care cause I like the show

  5. I dont get why people care where the houseguests are from. It doesn’t affect the game at all. They could all be from toronto and it wont change the show at all. That’s kind of stupid to say that you wont watch the show just because some of them are from the same town

    • its more about the people that are saying something about it are from one of the 10 provinces and 3 Territories that were not picked like….pei,NB,QU,MA,SK,and any of the one was picked from any of them there was 15 guest they could of at least spread it out a little more then they day…. your right it wont change the game at all but that was not the point…. and as for not watching it because of it thats a little much..

  6. Do you all realize how many people are in the GTA & Toronto? TONS (there are even subsections of t.o, it’s quite large) …maybe most of the people who auditioned were from that area as well.
Anyways this brought me back to watching the show since season 2 of the original, they have just been too over done.

  7. they are trying too hard to make it what the american version is…. newsflash itll never be that, so just stop already.. and i also agree, too many contestants from ontario.. none from manitoba… wheres this ‘diversity’ canada claims to be about.

  8. Who cares where the people are from, there all Canadians.

I like the Canadian version better than U.S. Seems like its real and not so scripted. True reality. Way to go Canada you got a winner!!

  9. OMG I can’t believe you people
Does it really matter that every Province is represented?
The American BB doesn’t do that. Why is it that you care so much?
The show is so much better than the US.
Im sure if you watch it you would agree.
Unless you offended by f word it’s down right awsome!

  10. Alot from the Big T n a few from BC 3 from Alberta they should of did at least one per province for sure then random. Even though I’m from Alberta but ya not fair

  11. What’s with them always saying house guest stop talking bout production as really what’s the matter if they talk about what their talking about. That’s on after dark don’t they have anything better to do????????? But with the provinces I’m sure that there going to be more canada ones but really it’s the 1st one and as for all the ppl who think its not good just think the 1st one they need to work out the bugs I bet if you never seen any BBs then I’m sure you wouldn’t think that way their just starting out give it a chance. Love it Canada even through its taken a while glad it’s here and we need to support our own canadain stuff or we will be over ran by the states with tv lets bring it back CANADA.

  12. Wow Peter rocking on the hammock and got in trouble bb voice Peter stop that an all he was doing was rocking and the chain was hitting the pole like wow they need to sit on the chairs and not say any thing so they don’t get told to stop everything : ( Really give them a break you could hear them fine when Tom is flicking the ball is more noise and such but he can still do that like bb Canada needs to chill so they can talk and rock on the hammock

  13. Wow Tom took Gary off the block not sure if that’s a good idea and poor aj what’s with that hope aj doesn’t get the boot for this

  14. So I heard that there’s nothing for the house guest to do I would like to see them do a board game night as an award or as a competions to win something but so they all can play in it instead of pizza and beer as a win cause they have got that few times now or even make it an award after doing something

  15. Really a yellow ball really wow give them something else to do they wherent hurting anyone and you guys take that away why didn’t you just put them in a jail and lock them up cause really very close

  16. I can’t believe what TOM did to Alec that’s retarted and a child’s move I think bb canada should be doing something about that
