In exactly a week, Global TV releases the Big Brother Canada 9 premiere. We already had a sneak peek of the BBCAN9 house, but now a major potential leak may have spoiled one of the big twists of the season. Big Brother Canada is known for its major twists and turns, so of course, we only expected more of the same with this season. Yesterday, the Big Brother Canada world had a few more major reveals.
It started with the announcement of this year’s Big Brother Canada sponsors. They include Sunlight, Weber, Muskoka Spirits, TikTok, OLG, Expedia, Wendy’s®, and SkipTheDishes. The BBCAN9 winner will receive a $100,000 cash prize and Weber will provide $10,000 worth of grills and grilling accessories, Sunlight will also provide $10,000, and Expedia will give the winner a vacation for two. The sponsor announcement also revealed that the houseguests will have a POV TikTok challenge throughout the season.
Host Arisa Cox will also do short-form interviews on TikTok called “After the Eviction.” The rest of the BBCAN9 sponsors will also be integrated into the new season in various ways, like challenges and prizes.
Though news of the new BBCAN9 sponsors is very exciting, the biggest potential spoiler coming from yesterday is that Twitter user JamsJam01 noticed a source update on the Big Brother Canada official website. The website showed that BBCAN9 will involve the houseguests being split into two teams, Team Doom and Team Defenders. The teams will have two captains. The possible Team twist started to make people speculate that BBCAN9 may involve returning players (hence Team Defenders), specifically some players from BBCAN8 since their time was cut short. This would make sense and that’s why I’m inclined to believe the possible leak. A team twist can be frustrated, as we’ve seen in past seasons of US Big Brother, but it also can lead to some interesting drama.
